Per capita disposable income of urban households was 2.53 times that of rural households
The nationwide per capita disposable income of residents was 8,493 yuan (US$1,265.48) in Q1 2019, a nominal growth of 8.7% year-on-year.
In terms of permanent residence, the per capita disposable income of urban households was 11,633 yuan (US$1,733.35) in Q1 2019, the real growth of 5.9%.
The per capita disposable income of rural households was 4,600 yuan (US$685.41), real growth of 6.9%. The per capita disposable income of urban households was 2.53 times that of the rural households, 0.02 less than that of the same period last year.
The median of the nationwide per capita disposable income was 7,158 yuan (US$1,066.56), a nominal increase of 8.8%.

China Per Capita Consumption in Q1 2019
In the first quarter, the per capita consumption expenditure of the national residents was 5,538 yuan, a 7.3% increase over the same period of the previous year. After deducting the price factor, the actual increase was 5.4%.
- The per capita consumption of food, tobacco and alcohol in the country was 1,673 yuan, up 3.6%, accounting for 30.2% of per capita consumption expenditure
- Apparel: 449 yuan, up 1.7%, accounting for 8.1%
- Living expenditure 1212 yuan, an increase of 9.5%, accounting for 21.9%
- Household goods and services: 319 yuan, an increase of 3.1%, accounting for 5.8%
- Transportation and communication expenditure: 729 yuan, growth 7.8%, accounting for 13.2%
- Education, culture and entertainment consumption expenditure: 548 yuan, an increase of 20.6%, accounting for 9.9%
- Health care consumption expenditure: 464 yuan, an increase of 9.3%, accounting for 8.4%
- Other supplies and services: 144 yuan, up 7.1%, accounting for 2.6%
In Q1 2019, the per capita salary income of the national residents was 4,838 yuan, an increase of 8.7%, accounting for 57.0% of the disposable income. The per capita net income was 1,486 yuan, an increase of 8.3%, accounting for 17.5% of disposable income. The per capita net assets was 721 yuan, up 12.2%, accounting for 8.5% of disposable income.
China consumer price in Q1 2019
In March 2019, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) went up by 2.3 percent year-on-year. The prices grew by 2.3 percent in cities and 2.3 percent in rural areas.
The consumer price went up by 1.8% year-on-year in Q1. Specifically, the price went up by 1.9% in urban areas and 1.8% in rural areas.
Grouped by commodity categories, prices went up 2.2% for food, tobacco, and liquor, 1.8% for clothing, 2.1% for housing, 1.3% for articles and services for daily use, 2.6% for education, culture and recreation, 2.7% for medical services and health care, and 2.1% for other articles and services; prices were down by 0.8% for transportation and communication.
In terms of food, tobacco and liquor prices, prices for grain went up by 0.5%, pork down by 1.2% and fresh vegetables up by 6.9%.
